Rick Pedrosa began his career in 1988, when he worked at DTK Computers as a sales representative. He quickly built a reputation for his outstanding performance in sales, averaging $12 million in sales per month. His performance quickly earned him promotions into management, and Rick Pedrosa went on to lead DTK Computers in its expansion into Latin American markets. Under his leadership, revenue in his division increased from $60 million to $150 million. He also maintained a 10 to 15 percent profit margin while overseeing the establishment of 20 offices across the US, as well as manufacturing plants in Taiwan and Mexico; and an assembly in Lin Florida.

In 1995, Rick Pedrosa left DTK to work as an executive account manager for Aames Home Loan. There, he was responsible for monthly sales of $1.5 million, as well as training loan officers. After two years in this position, Mr. Pedrosa left Aames Home Loan to found his own firm, the Equitable Funding Group, a firm dedicated to connecting those in need of credit with the most appropriate lenders and credit programs.

Leaving the Equitable Funding Group in 1999, Mr. Pedrosa founded The Home Mortgage Specialist, a firm he built into a profitable mortgage brokerage. Networking with realtors, brokers, and managing a team of loan officers, he worked to close loans with appropriate lenders in a timely manner.
